Over break I was in charge of making supper one night, and I had no idea what to prepare. I looked at Pinterest for some ideas and something really cool flashed on screen. Its called Rigatoni Pasta Pie. It was a task to make, but in the end it looked and tasted awesome. You start off by boiling a pound of rigatoni noodles. Once their al dente, you pour olive oil on them and mix them with Parmesan cheese. You then stack them side by side in a 9 inch springform pan that has been buttered. Once that is finished, you put the noodles off to the side while you prepare the marinara sauce.
The marinara sauce is semi-homemade. Pour some olive oil into the bottom of a skillet. Add some garlic and pepper. Once you smell the garlic, add in the 1 pound of ground beef. After it has been browned, add some crushed red tomatoes. Once the sauce is done comes the difficult part. Now you spoon the filling into each noodle, and spread the remaining sauce in top. Then you bake it for 15 minutes at 400. Take it out and add some freshly grated mozzarella and parmesan on top. Bake for 15 minutes more. Once it is cooled, enjoy!
